A Time of “First’s”

I’m still getting used to the idea of being a published author, and there are a lot of “first’s” that happen as part of the process – all of them wonderful, exciting, and amazing, each in their very own way.

Each time someone asks me to sign my book I’m still just as surprised as I was the first time.  Really?  You want me to sign it?  I used to be the person who asked other authors to sign their books!

I’m touched by the incredible enthusiasm from people – even complete strangers – each and every time when they find out I’m a published author.  It’s such a huge deal for me, but for others to also acknowledge how amazing it is feels really nice.

SH boutiqueAnother “first” today:  I dropped off books for resale at Seneca Hill Animal Hospital Resort and Spa.  Since the book is not in book stores just yet, this will be the first location where people can actually buy my book “live”, so to speak.  I feel like I want to stop back in there later today and see the display!

I’m sure that the “first’s” will keep on coming for a while.  And I’m going to enjoy each and every one of them.  Maybe at some point this will be the new normal, but for now, it’s an incredibly exciting and joyful time for me.

  1. I’m so happy for you! It’s so, so exciting to launch a book, and your book, in particular, will probably continue to get a wonderful response. Savor it! You’ve earned it!
