Rainy Saturday Reading

cat readingFor me, there’s no better way to spend a cold, rainy day than to curl up with Amber, some hot chocolate, and my assorted reading materials.  After what has been a crazy busy, but wonderful week, it will be a divine indulgence to spend a day just catching up on my reading.

I always have at least two or three books and a couple of magazines going at the same time.  Currently, I’m reading Floor Sample by Julia Cameron.  It’s a fascinating and very personal look at the woman behind The Artist’s Way.  I am in awe of this uebercreative artist.  I’m also catching up on my magazine reading – I haven’t even had time to flip through the latest issue of Writers Digest, and I am two issues behind with my German magazine Brigitte.  Browsing through that magazine is one of the few ways I still have to keep up with my German language skills, and it’s also a trip down memory lane for me as am reminded of my childhood through the images and words in a magazine I remember reading as a teenager and young woman.  And of course, there’s always an animal related book in the mix as well, today, it’s a review copy of Memoirs of the Bathtub Psychic – The True Story of a Clairvoyant and Her Dogs by Bethanne Elion.
