Launch Party

While spending time with friends is one of the great pleasures of my life, I have never been big on parties, and I haven’t had a party for myself since I was a little kid and my parents still threw me birthday parties.  So when I decided to host a big party to celebrate the launch of Buckley’s Story, I suprised a lot of people!  The event took place on Sunday, and it was one of the most wonderful and amazing experiences of my life.  To have people from so many different areas of my life come together in celebration of something that matters so much to me and is such a source of joy and delight was an experience I will treasure forever.  The energy in the room was indescribable.  I knew I wasn’t going to be able to spend a lot of time with each individual because I wanted to make sure I talked to everyone who came, and I had been a little nervous about some of my guests, since the only person they knew at the party was me.  I needn’t have worried – everybody had a great time, and it looked like a few new friendships were made in the process.  What a great feeling!

To those of you who came, thank you for sharing this very special celebration with me.  I wish I could have invited everyone I know, including all my online friends, but of course, that would not have been possible.  So this is my way of sharing the party with all of you.  I’ve posted some photos on Facebook, and I’ll post more as I get more of the photos e-mailed to me by others who took pictures at the party.
