It’s hard to believe that Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the United States. As we’re looking forward to spending time with family and friends, it’s important to not lose sight of the true meaning of the holiday: a time to count one’s blessings. For the past couple of years, I’ve made a Thanksgiving ABC’s list. Some of the items on the list repeat year after year, others are new.
Here is this year’s list of what I’m thankful for:
A: Allegra
B: Books and blogs
C: Cats
D: Dessert
E: Eating out – one of the great pleasures of life
F: Friends – “real life” and online friends
G: Gratitude as a practice
H: Health – the fact that mine, and the health of my girls, is excellent.
I: Independence
J: Joy in life’s small moments
K: Kittens
L: Lovingkindness meditation – I’ve recently become intrigued with this Buddhist practice.
M: Music
N: Nature
O: Organic foods
P: My Pettie for Best Pet Blog
Q: Quiet time – it’s essential for my personal well-being.
R: Ruby
S: Sunbathing
T: Trans-Siberian Orchestra – one of my favorite bands, especially this time of year.
U: U2 – another band I really like
V: Vitamins
W: Walking
X: No matter how hard I try, I can’t come up with anything that starts with X.
Y: You – my readers! You’re what motivates me to blog every day.
Z: Zen. It’s a state of mind I strive for every day.
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
I absolutely LOVE that list as well. I think all of us should post “Thanksgiving ABC’s” on Thursday, superb idea!
I’d love to see more of these lists, Caren!
We agree with most of your A to Z and especially D & F this year. Sharing the red velvet cheesecake the other day with you was the best!
That cheesecake was amazing, and sharing it with you made it even better. Definitely one for the gratitude list!
What a wonderful list…you should name your next pet Xavier, then the “X” will be covered!
LOL, Trish!
Oh my! Your list is so beautiful!!!!!

Thanks, Marilia! Are you making your own list?
You got that covered. We’re off to make our own list. Great idea.
