Allegra-Conscious-Cat

Hi everyone, it’s Allegra! Guess what! Today is my 5th adoption anniversary! Can you believe it? Five years ago today, Mom brought me home to live with her and Amber. Sadly, I never got to know Amber really well, because she passed away six weeks after I arrived. After Amber’s passing, it was just Mom and me for almost a year before Ruby joined our family. The jury is still out whether that was a good idea…

Ruby: blows raspberry at Allegra.

Ingrid: They say you really notice the passage of time when you watch your kids grow up, and while it’s not as obviously visible with cats, it’s hard to believe it’s been five years, and my beautiful girl will be six years old later this year. The top left photo in the collage shows her the day I met her.

Allegra: The last five years have been the best! I love you Mom!

Ruby: impatiently taps paw

Allegra: Okay, Ruby, I love you, too.

  1. OMC OMC OMC!!! Allegra!! How could I have missed your most special day!? I am hoping you will forgive me! HAPPY HAPPY 5TH ADOPTION ANNIVERSARY beautiful girl!!! I know your Mama cherishes you, you couldn’t have a better Mama! Wishing you MANY, MANY more happy years together! xoxo

  2. Thank you for all the anniversary wishes! The anniversary girl had a great day, and her sister (almost) didn’t aggravate her at all ;-).

  3. Happy Adoptionary Day Allegra and Ingrid! Many more blissful years to you both. Thank you for sharing your Torties with us

  4. Allegra, it really is hard to believe that it has been five years since you came into Ingrid’s world, and I am glad that you were there for her when Amber passed. And, btw, you picked a really good human. But, then, you know that.

  5. Happy birthday, Allegra. Yes, it is a new birth. Our four were adopted in a variety of ways but suffice to say that they were all rejected or dumped as kittens. And am I not the lucky one to be the beneficiary of such unconditional love? I know your mom feels the same, Allegra. For anyone thinking of adoption, I encourage you to save a life by visiting your local shelter or scanning the papers for free kittens.
