Hi everyone, it’s Ruby! I want to tell you about the cool new thing that came in the mail the other day! It was addressed to Allegra and me, but as soon as Mom took this particular item out of the box, I knew it was meant for me. It’s my own little cave! Mom said I need to describe it better than that, and she started to use all sorts of big words, so why don’t I let her tell you what it is.

Ingrid: The Jackson Galaxy Comfy Coccon is the purrfect sleeping place for cats who are cavers. Made from a super soft place that will aid in “scent soaking” (allowing the cat’s scent to penetrate to where the items feels like “mine”,) this little snuggle sack is like a mini tunnel. It features a wire opening, with an additional wire in the center so you can adjust the front and center of the bed for your cat’s size and caving preference. (Yes, caving preference is a thing!)

The back of the cocoon has a zipper closure, which provides an escape route if needed – a nice feature for multicat households where another cat might startle the cat inside the cocoon.

Ruby took to it very ….

Ruby: Thanks, Mom, I’ll take it from here.

Allegra: Ruby! It’s not polite to interrupt Mom!

Ruby: Did I ask for your opinion, Allegra? Anyway. So, this cocoon thing is sooo cozy! I checked it out as soon as Mom put it on the floor, and it only took me a few minutes to decide that this was going to be my new morning nap spot. It’s so comfy, and Mom can’t even really see me when I’m inside because the inside is almost the same color as I am.

Ingrid: May I, Ruby?

Ruby: What? Oh, you want to tell them more about it? Sure, go ahead. I’m going to take a nap now.

Ingrid: Teenagers, sigh. This cocoon perfectly illustrates the difference between cats who are cavers and cats who prefer to be out in the open. Allegra was curious about the cocoon (we got a second one,) but hasn’t gone inside yet. She is not fond of enclosed spaces in general; any caving she does involves going under the bed. I think she feels secure there without feeling enclosed.

The Comfy Cocoon is available from Amazon and from Petmate.

  1. Sounds good!!! Our caver would enjoy it. We make caves for him in different spots (or he finds his own) but this would be good in winter to be always available.

  2. Sounds like a great product! The pics of Ruby enjoying it are adorable!!!

Pipers: As many as it takes to me happy.
    Me: You’re not happy?
Pipers: Of course I’m happy but I will love you forever.
Me: I thought you already did.
