Did you know that one minute of anger weakens your immune system for 4 to 5 hours, whereas one minute of laughter boosts it for 24 hours? If ever there was a time when we need to laugh, this is it!
Try to find something to laugh about every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. I’ve been watching all ten seasons of Friends* for the past few months, and even though the show is now more than 20 years old (how is this even possible!) and I’ve watched some episodes so many times I can practically recite the dialogue, it still makes me laugh.
Social media is a mixed blessing these days and can be a bit of a minefield in terms of what shows up in your feed, but every once in a while there’s a meme or a gif that just cracks me up. The one below is one that I can watch over and over and it makes me giggle every single time.

You know I never watched ‘Friends’ but i think i will give it a try. Thank you Ingrid for suggesting that. I haven’t laughed, really laughed,, in a long time. I used to love the old black and white shows like ‘Our Miss Brooks’ which most of you have probably never heard of, and there were other shows from the 50’s like that that really made me laugh. My dad had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and I had a best friend a few years ago and we would laugh so much. I miss that. Thanks Ingrid for bringing this up and especially right now when we need so badly to see the funny side of things. Laughter really does help to heal.
Laughter is the best medicine for what ails you! My CAGP, Raphaelle, laughs all the time when she listens to the radio, or if she hears someone else laughing, then I start laughing, and she just won’t quit. Then I call her ‘A Silly Bird’ and she laughs even more. It really is good to laugh, it makes you feel better. Have a great week everyone, even you, Allegra, although you’re not a human, but better yet you’re an amazing darling Tortie.
Absolutely on the same page…Saturday Night Live reruns, Agatha Raisin, Monk…everyday I am laughing for the medicine of it!
I have been watching Frasier lately and have forgotten just how well done that show was, there are so ,many moments of wonderful laughter on that show.
Oooh, good suggestion! I loved that show!
This clip makes me laugh every time – https://i.imgur.com/gPNXNg9.gifv. I hope you don’t find the language offensive but for me, it absolutely nails the occasional cranky cattitude fits our girls’ display.
Ha, that’s priceless!
I do find things to laugh about each day and most of it comes from my own cats. I stay away from social media because it can become so mean and vicious. Therefore, my Facebook account is inactive and I am not on Instagram. My life is filled with my kitties, plus reading and reviewing books. Life is good!
You’re smart to stay away from social media, Connie!
Friends never gets old. I can watch it all the time too. Maybe we will watch a funny movie today. I can’t remember the last time I laughed.
