cat-singing

Even though today’s quote is, of course, intended to be a metaphor, you may want to consider actually singing on days when life just seems overwhelming. Believe it or not, singing has been shown to have multiple health benefits.

It’s pretty hard to sing and feel sad, so it’s not surprising that singing has been shown to be a natural anti-depressant. And don’t let it stop you if you feel that you don’t have a good singing voice. I doubt that your cats will judge you!

I sing along with music almost all the time. Allegra doesn’t seem to mind. And sometimes, I even sing to her. I make up silly songs about how special she is, and she seems to like it.

Do you sing just for the fun of it? If you don’t, why not give it a try?

  1. That’s a great idea, but if you had a singing voice like mine, ‘I think you would move on to something else’. I’m just not a song bird, I leave that up to my CAGP.

  2. This post made me smile because Amelie was relaxed beside me this morning while I knit and had my coffee and she kind of hummed along for a bit with Loreena Mckennitt music. If Amelie can do it so can I:) As you say I doubt the cats will judge!

  3. So true. I sing all the time during the day in my house and in the car as my radio is broken. When I am singing, I do feel happy.
