Father’s Day can be bittersweet for those of us whose fathers are no longer with us. My dad passed away 17 years ago, but I still get a little sad each year when Father’s Day comes around.
The photo above is one of my favorite photos of my dad. Can’t you just feel the love? I think it’s safe to say that nobody else in my life ever has or ever will love me as much as he did.

What a wonderful a picture, even if you were too young to remember. My father passed away in 1981 2 days after my birthday. He was in his early sixties. Unfortunately he was not the nicest father, but he had many health issues which affected his personality.
Ingrid, this, so resonated with me “I think it’s safe to say that nobody else in my life ever has or ever will love me as much as he did.” I feel exactly the same. I was a major “Daddy’s Girl” well into adult-hood, til the day he passed 20 years ago. I was never, ever close to my mother and frankly we have gone many years on and off not speaking (she is extremely abusive and always was)…..she is completely toxic. My Dad and HIS mother were where I learned how to love, definitely NOT from my mother. I LOVE that photo of your Dad, that is a beautiful memory to be lucky to have! (((hugs))))

My dad passed away in 1967 and I still think about him often. He was the most wonderful, kind and honest man I have ever known! I still miss him terribly!
What a sweet picture. You can definitely see the love there. I only met my father twice, but I treasure those times and the little bit I got to learn about him.
