My cat has allergy issues and he did very well on Darwin’s lamb for several years – until they stopped making it. We received a very perfunctory cancellation notice and no attempt to woo us to another protein. If you need a novel protein for whatever reason, Darwin’s no longer offers that option.
In all the time we used Darwin’s, we had only two delayed shipments where product was too far defrosted to consume safely. Darwin’s didn’t cause the delay obviously, but they were great to work with on refunding the damaged shipments.
One other thing to keep in mind, If you only have one cat who is a small breed like mine and does not require a lot of food to stay at optimal weight, an 8 oz, packet may take longer than 2 days to finish. 48 hours defrosted in the fridge is my max limit for safety. I would partially defrost an 8 oz. packet, cut out 6 oz. to use immediately and refreeze the remainder for later. This was a bit of a pain and something to consider when buying Darwin’s.
