It’s hard to believe that my mom passed away 31 years ago. Even after all that time, Mother’s Day still is a bit bittersweet.

I was about a year old in this photo.

I still “talk” to her every day. I share the good times with her, and ask for her help during the tough times. I wish she could have known all the cats I had after Feebee, who was the only one of my cats she met and loved. I wish she was still here to impart her wisdom – something I didn’t appreciate nearly enough when I was younger. But more than anything, I wish I could get just one more hug from her.

Whether you’re the mom of human or feline children, enjoy your day. And if your mom is no longer with you, I hope today is filled with wonderful memories of your time together.

  1. Thanks for sharing that, Ingrid…and since I’m posting this on your birthday…

    Happy Birthday! Best wishes.

  2. A very lovely memory. Thank you for sharing. My mom has also been gone for many years and dearly missed. There was a song. One More a day that came out shortly after she passed. I cried every time I heard it.

One more hug would be so nice

  3. My mom was an amazing woman. Worked, cooked everything from scratch and was always there for me and my brother. They don’t make them like they used to. Wishing you a happy Mother’s Day!
