Hi everyone, it’s Allegra! Mom made a comment the other day of how I’m sleeping so much more now that I’m a senior girl, and that my preferred sleeping position seems to have changed over the years. Well, who better to tell you about this than me!
When I was a kitten, I slept in some really weird positions sometimes, including the one below, which Mom calls my kitty yoga position:
Looking at that now, it doesn’t look all that comfortable, does it?
As I got older, I alternated between sleeping curled up, or sleeping stretched out. You can see how long I am in the photo at the top of the post!
Of course, I always love to sleep on my window perch. Sometimes I curl up on it, and sometimes I stretch out. And sometimes, I sleep in a combo position like the one below. Best of both worlds: head curled under, paws stretched out a little bit.
One of my favorite napping spots is my Lola Blanket, which Mom puts at the foot of our bed. Lately, I prefer being curled up when I nap on it. This is my “almost curled up but not quite” position.
But my absolute favorite napping spot is on Mom’s lap. And I’m pretty sure it’s her favorite, too!

Amelie: Allegra, I love your yoga position! I do a version of that with my backlegs straight out. My mom calls it my supercat position.
