Today would have been Ruby’s 15th birthday, and as is often the case with these special days, I miss my precious girl even more today than I usually do. I don’t think I’ll ever come to terms with the fact that she died so young. It makes me sad that I never got to experience her as a senior kitty, especially now that Allegra is in her senior years. Ruby had so much life left to live, and so many more tuna cakes to enjoy.
Today is also the third anniversary of this website!
A huge, heartfelt thank you to all of you who have stayed with me after I made the difficult decision three years ago to pass The Conscious Cat on to its new home, and a warm welcome and thank you to all the new subscribers we keep adding every day. Over the last three years, Purrs of Wisdom and our community of cat parents who want the best for their feline family members has continued to grow. I love continuing to bring you all the latest information about feline health, nutrition, behavior and lifestyle, as well as product and book reviews and our popular Sunday Quotes.
A word from Allegra
Hi everyone, it’s Allegra! I want to thank all of you, too, for being part of our Purrs family! While I love my time with Mom and having her undivided attention, I do miss my sister. We had so much fun together, and she should have grown old right along with me. I know she’s with us in spirit all the time, and probably especially today, so I better make sure the tuna cake we’re going to have later is ready! So, back to Mom, who has something exciting to tell you!

Happy Heavenly Birthday to Ruby. Congratulations on your 3 year Anniversary. I saved many of you emails from you The Conscious Cat. Even though I do not have a cat, I feed 2 feral cats, one even bit me, which caused me a lot of pain with all of the shots I had to get. I have always wanted a Maine Coon cat, but I have had Miniature Schnauzers for over 25 years. I do not think anyone in my family or relatives have ever had a cat. There were several the barns where I rode and I used to play with them. I have learned many things from your blog that can relate to my dogs. I love readying about animals, I have cat books as well as dog and horse books. I learned a lot about the Assisi Loop and have 2, plus my vet got me a cold light laser a few years ago. I just love reading about cat adventures and stories and learning about animal health. I told my former vet about several of the health issues you have discussed in the past. Thank you for continuing your blog but with a different name, same wonderful stories and health information.

What I love about Purrs of Wisdom is more than the book reviews, product recommendations, craft ideas, inspirational quotes, and relevant information about feline health and nutrition (all things I love and I keep coming back for!). But what I really love is the… how to describe in words the intangible?… I love the essence, the sense, the feeling of love and well being that Purrs if Wisdom communicates. The vibe is similar to how I feel after a good yoga session or meditation.
Anyway, that’s been my indescribable experience .
