Allegra-bed

Hi everyone, it’s Allegra! I want to thank you for all your good wishes on last week’s post about my health. Personally, I think Mom worries too much. I’m doing just fine and while some of my health issues can be a bit annoying at times, mostly, I’m not even thinking about any of that and just enjoying my life.

Today, I want to tell you about something that kind of got me in trouble with Mom a little bit. Thankfully, she can’t ever be mad at me for more than a few seconds, but I think this one was a bit of a doozy. I told you last year how much I love to chew on anything plastic. Mom doesn’t like me doing it and usually takes whatever I’m chewing on away from me.

But sometimes, she forgets. And when she left her plastic Birkenstock sandals sitting out, I knew what I had to do. See, I started working on them about a year ago, and gave them a lovely stencil pattern, but Mom caught me in the act and I only managed to embellish them a little bit. I always felt incomplete. I knew they needed more work.

Well, this time, I lucked out. Mom forgot to put them in the closet when she went to bed and just set them by the bed, so I took the opportunity to finish what I started in August while Mom was sleeping. I added stencils to the front and back of the shoe. Unfortunately, Mom woke up and heard me work away at the shoes, and once again, she interrupted the artist at work. So rude!

The photo below shows my work from last November on the left, and what I accomplished before Mom took the shoes from me. I don’t really understand why Mom wasn’t pleased with what I did. After all, the sandals looked pretty boring before I went to work on them!

I only needed a little more time, and I could have completed my work in progress, but no, Mom had to come and ruin the fun. So obviously, I’m going to need to find another opportunity to even things out so both shoes match.

Stay tuned! I’m determined to finish what I started!

Kitties, do you ever do things that get you in trouble with your mom?

8 Comments on Allegra’s World: Sandal Art

  1. My girls like the feel of cardboard on their teeth. They shred a special box/bed that I put out for them to do just that!

  2. Allegra you have great teeth! Mom shouldn’t be too worried about the sandals as most of the areas are covered when her feet are in them. Not to noticeable. Just be careful so you don’t crack a tooth!

  3. Hi Allegra, I have to say, you’re doing an amazing job with your artwork. But you have to be careful and stop when your mom wakes up, so she won’t know what you did. it’s more fun if she were to wear the sandals and someone notice the artwork.
