It’s been a while since I’ve shared a Ruby memory with you. In three months, it will be six years ago that I had to let her go, and some days, it still feels like it was just yesterday.
I periodically scroll through the Ruby’s Reflections category on this site, and I’m so grateful I have that record of some of the cute and silly things she did. Memories fade with time, no matter how much we don’t want them to. The other day, I came across a post she wrote two months after she joined our family. I had completely forgotten about the time I had someone come to trim back a tree branch that was hanging over our roof. Reading her account made me smile, and I hope it will bring some smiles for you, too.

She was a sweetie. A beautiful memory.
What a sweet memory. I know she was happy that you made her view of the yard even better.
Ruby was one heck of a Tortie! Even if memories fade, it is always nice to have them.
Ruby’s story made me laugh. I would have liked to see her face when she and the birds and squirrels came face to face on that limb.
