Best Wishes from the Full Moon Coffee Shop is the follow on to The Full Moon Coffee Shop. It’s hard to categorize this series – perhaps magical realism might be the best genre label for these charming books.

Set in Kyoto during the Christmas season, the story centers around a mysterious café that appears only under the full moon. Its feline proprietors serve not only coffee and beautiful desserts but also the occasional glimpse into a person’s heart. Three women, each facing a turning point in her life, find their way to this otherworldly spot, where gentle magic and feline wisdom guide them toward the truths they’ve been too busy or too afraid to see.
As was the case in the first book, the cosmic cats are larger than life and utterly fantastic. As each of the human characters visits the cafe, the cats explain their situation in terms of astrology and birth charts to give them a deeper understanding of their challenges and how to move through them.
This magical and somewhat mystical story is about wishes, choices, and rediscovering joy, all wrapped in a beautifully reflective tone. With its theme of celebrating small miracles, quiet transformation, and the wisdom of cats, this book is right up our alley, and the purrfect read for this holiday season.
