If you’re looking for a holiday read that leaves you feeling uplifted and hopeful by the final page, Just Until Christmas, the sixth installment in Brooke Skie’s Leafwood Falls series, is purrfect for you.
I previously reviewed other books in the series and was delighted that Skie came out with a holiday themed book.
This is a fake dating story featuring two people who came to Leafwood Falls to escape disastrous career mistakes, and of course, it features Hemingway, the opinionated orange bookstore cat who always has his paws in the story.
Brooke Skie has a gift for creating likeable characters who feel realistic. l found myself coming to care about them from the first pages, and halfway through the book, I was fully invested not just in the romance, but in their individual journeys.
Just Until Christmas is the kind of holiday book that starts out as a simple seasonal escape, but then turns into an emotionally multi-layered story about second chances, chosen family, and the unexpected ways life nudges us toward the people we’re meant to find.
As was the case with the other books, the small town charm, enhanced by twinkling Christmas lights and snow in this installment, captured my imagination. This is the kind of book that wraps you into the small town holiday warmth you’ve come to know from Hallmark movies.
It’s the purrfect book to curl up with on a quiet evening, preferably with a cat on your lap and your favorite holiday beverage.
Just Until Christmas is available from Amazon.

I need to read this book. I loved The Next Chapter Bookshop.
You will love this one, too!
