Allegra and the Lola Blanket

Hi everyone, it’s Allegra! I told you before how much I love our Lola blankets. Unfortunately, it’s been a bit of a bone of contention (are you impressed that I know such big words?) between Mom and me.

See, she gave me my very own Lola blanket for Christmas two years ago. It’s always at the bottom of Mom’s bed, and I nap on it every day. It’s especially nice on sunny days, because the sun is on it for most of the afternoon.

Then she bought a human sized blanket for herself two years ago. And she decided to also get a basket to store it in when she’s not using it. Well, you probably know where this is going: she essentially created a fantastic cat bed for me!

I have been practically living in that basket. On sunny days, I move to my own Lola blanket in the bedroom, but on grey days, I don’t even bother. I just keep going back to the basket.

Mom likes to use a blanket when she reads or watches TV, and she gets a little grumbly when I haven’t vacated the basket by the time she needs a blanket. Of course, she loves me so much that she would never think of displacing me!  How lucky am I!

A note from Ingrid: Allegra’s baby blanket and my “human sized” one are Lola Blankets. To tide me over until the next sale, I got a knock off version on Amazon. Allegra says it will do when she wants to be on my lap, but the rest of the time, she prefers her Lola blanket.

A friend who I told this story to asked why I don’t just put the cheap blanket in the basket so I can use the Lola blanket? I love my friend dearly, but she is not a cat person. Cat people understand why I could never deprive Allegra of her beloved blanket!
