Dear Ingrid, I recently adopted a 1&1/2 female Cat. She’s adjusted so well in my. Her new home. She feels loved & has gained trust ,eats well, litter box great allows pick ups & holding. She’s up on my recliner arm ,not lap yet. Loves to be petted. Im going on vacation in a couple months for two weeks and cant bring her with. I plan to introduce her to my neighbor who Ill ask to come make sure she has daily food etc. However Im concerned that she’ll take a backward attitude when I return. She’s comfortable in her safe surroundings now. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks CJ.
Congratulations on your new kitty, Cynthia! I would make sure that your neighbor can spend some time at your house with your kitty while you’re home so your kitty can become really comfortable with your neighbor. Two weeks is a long time to be gone, so if your neighbor can spend extra time with her other than just feeding her and cleaning the litter box, that would probably be very helpful to not make this stressful for her. It will be important that your kitty gets lots of playtime since she’s so young. And maybe your neighbor could even spend time at your house watching TV or reading, even if she’s not directly interacting with your kitty, just so she can have the company.
Great quote and cute kitty. Today is definitely a winter day here. My girls woke up, ate, pottied and went right back to bed to cuddle under blankets to stay warm.
