Hi everyone, it’s Allegra! Today is my 16th Adoption Anniversary! Sixteen years ago today, Mom brought me home to live with her and Amber. Sadly, I never got to know Amber really well, because she passed away six weeks after I arrived. Then it was just Mom and me for almost a year before Ruby joined our family and we spent eight too short years together before Ruby got sick and left us December of 2019.
These last 16 years have been so wonderful. Little did I know how amazing my life would turn out when Mom first came to see me at the animal hospital where I was staying after I was rescued.
I’ll be 17 years old in August, and dealing with some health issues. I may sleep a lot more than I used to, but I still feel and act like that little kitten sometimes.
Today Mom and I are going to snuggle even more than on a normal day. I’m sure there will be lots of treats, and maybe we’ll even have some tuna cake in Ruby’s memory!

My cat turned 18 this month…..had never been to the vet except for the first rabies shot.
Is an outdoor cat…and when I started giving him Nutrition yeast flakes, he hardly ever had any fleas or ticks.

Congratulations, Allegra, on reaching the ripe old age of 17. Our tortie, Truffie, will also be 17 years old this month, and we’re having a birthday party this weeken
Truffie is the ‘muse’ for the tortie barn cat in my latest cozy cat mystery, Black Cat and the Immigrant Child. She is pictured with other cats in the front of the book.

We just lost my Spencer the loverboy on March 14,2026. He was 17 years 10 months and my longtime bf had to bring him to this rehab where i had to go on March 9th for bilateral edema with wounds (not diabetic as nd wiunds started Feb 7 2025 but edema since November 2017. Acupuncture kept me out of hospital from. Late December 2017 to December 2024. Then it went to hel in a handbasket. They wouldn’t let me go home to see Spencer so he cane here outside and he perked up when he heard me and I kissed him and basically died in my arms. My bf took him to ER vet and they came to car and confirmed he went to Rainbow Bridge. While in hospital Feb 23-28 2026 Ivy (16 years 6 months) died while bf was at work. She Loved him but hissed at me because I got her spayed at 4 months. Im hopefully getting our t if hereon Friday April 10th..Just in time to do taxes. We only have 3 cats now two are7 years old and one is 9. This roommate here has a step-mom who is 82 and has two cats who are siblings and someone dumped t hem on her lanf. She got them fixed but has them in basement…because she cant trust her big dog. She’d drive them 200 miles here but my bf says “no more cats.” We had 38 at one yome and spent well over $200k for vets, food etc. The roommate days her step- mom is going to Japan on April 16th for two weeks ju s t babysit them. He says No!! I told her drop them off when hes at work. Lol. I’ll say they were knocking on door. He’ll kill me..i’m heartbroken. I.miss Spencer and Ivy….

Oh, you are just as cute and beautiful as you were as a baby when your Mom brought you home. What a wonderful and joyous day that was for both of you. I hope that you have the best Happy Birthday and many more healthy happies. I hope your health issues are not serious. Enjoy all of those wonderful snuggles with your Mom. I am sorry that you did not have the chance to get to know Amber, I am sure you would have been great friends and sisters. Ruby left too soon as well. That is such a sweet picture of you and your Mom.
