Whether your kids are human or feline,
enjoy your special day!

Father’s Day can be bittersweet for those of us whose fathers are no longer with us. My dad has been gone for 22 years. Even so, I still get a little sad each year when Father’s Day comes around.

The photo above is one of my absolute favorite photos of my dad. Can’t you just feel the love? I think it’s safe to say that nobody else in my life ever has loved me or will ever love me as much as he did.

I’m not sure how old I am in this photo, maybe a year or so?

One specific memory of my dad always comes back to me right around Father’s Day. It still makes me cry each time I remember it. When I was four or five years old, we vacationed at a lake with a rocky beach. My dad would get up every morning and remove all the rocks from a small section of the beach so his little girl would have a sandy beach to play on. My dad literally  moved the earth for me to make me happy.

Whether you’re the dad of human or feline children, enjoy your day. And if your father is no longer with you, I hope today is filled with wonderful memories of your time together.

  1. I no longer have a father or father figure in my life. But the girls did tell me to get a card from them for my husband, the cat dad.
