Ruby on Sleeping With Humans

Hi everyone, it’s Ruby! I want to talk about sleeping with humans today, and tell you about how I’ve trained my Mom to do what I want her to do when we go to bed at night. Who says humans can’t be trained!

Some of you kitties probably already know that sleeping with humans can be challenging. Continue Reading

Allegra and Ruby Assist With Tax Preparation

cats-taxes

‘Tis the season. Many of us are working on our taxes, and whether you’re super organized and only have to download your data into Turbo Tax, or whether you’re still using a shoebox system, haven’t you wished that someone else could do this chore for you?

Enter the Feline Tax Assistant. The main responsibilities of a feline tax assistant position are to assist and support hinder their human in organizing receipts, entering data in spreadsheets walking across the keyboard, printing said spreadsheets batting at said spreadsheets as they come out of the printer, and helping their human locate missing receipts chasing receipts all over the office. Ruby and the Router

Hi everyone, it’s Ruby! It’s been forever since I last got to write something here! I want to tell you about something super cool that I did earlier this week. You probably saw Mom’s post last Sunday about how she spent a weekend at a friend’s house with no Wifi. Wifi, wifi, wifi – what a funny word! Wiiiifiiii – wee!!! Anyway, I think it means she couldn’t be on the computer. I don’t know why that’s a bad thing. I like it when Mom is not on the computer, because she pays more attention to me. Continue Reading

Ruby and the Leaves

cat-at-window

Today’s post title sounds like the name of an indie rock band, doesn’t it! Ruby has become fascinated with the first dried up leaves that have been blowing onto our deck for the last few days. To me, they’re a sad reminder that summer is coming to an end soon, but to Ruby, they’ve been a source of endless entertainment, as you can see in the video below. Continue Reading

Allegra, Ruby and the Cable Box

cat-on-cable-box

No matter how many cat beds I put around the house, the top of the cable box is one of the most coveted napping spots, especially during the colder months. Allegra and Ruby must have worked out a schedule, because they both seem to get equal time on it. All of my cats over the years have always enjoyed napping on the cable box, and these things must be pretty sturdy, because I can  only imagine the amount of cat hair that ends up inside.Continue Reading

Hi everyone, it’s Ruby! I want to tell you about the cool new thing that came in the mail the other day! It was addressed to Allegra and me, but as soon as Mom took this particular item out of the box, I knew it was meant for me. It’s my own little cave! Mom said I need to describe it better than that, and she started to use all sorts of big words, so why don’t I let her tell you what it is.Continue Reading

Allegra, Ruby and the Secret Birthday Post

Hi everyone, it’s Allegra and Ruby! Mom had one of her super smart posts about some super important topic scheduled for today, but we snuck out of the bedroom once she was fast asleep last night, and rescheduled it for next week. At first we were going to delete it, but then we realized that maybe Mom would get mad at us if we did that….

Allegra: Ruby, you know better than that. Mom never gets mad at us.

Ruby: She does at me! Continue Reading

Allegra, Ruby and the Dental Treat

cat-dental-treat

Dental health is vitally important to cats. Brushing is the most effective way to prevent dental disease – and before you say you couldn’t possibly brush your cat’s teeth, let me tell you that I never thought I’d be able to get Allegra and Ruby used to having their teeth brushed, but with patience and persistence, it has become part of our nightly routine to the point where the girls will actually “remind” me on the occasional night when I get sidetracked (they start pacing in the kitchen in front of the counter where I keep their brushes and toothpaste.)

After their nightly brushing, the girls each get a C.E.T. Dental Chew Treat.Continue Reading
