It’s hard to believe that next month it’ll be four years since I had to let Ruby go. I still miss my little girl every single day. I’m grateful I have eight years of Ruby’s Reflections on this site to comfort me and remind me of some of the cute things she did, and I love sharing the memories with you.Continue Reading

Thursday is Thanksgiving in the United States and it’s time for my annual tradition of making a “Thanksgiving ABC’s” list. Even though I maintain a gratitude practice every day, I still love doing this list every year. Some of the items repeat year after year, others are new. Here’s this year’s list:Continue Reading

Sometimes I think I probably was a cat in a former life, because among many other things I have in common with the feline species, I’m extremely sensitive to scented products. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I’m a big fan of OKSOU’s (formerly Okaysou) air purifiers. We already have four of them, one in our living room, one in the dining room, my bedroom, and one in our family room aka kitty playroom. I was delighted to get to try one of their newer models, the Apollo 630.Continue Reading

If you’ve read this blog for a number of years, you’ve heard me talk about the maple tree outside my bedroom window and how much it means to me. We planted it when we first moved into this house, more than 39 years ago now. I’ve watched it grow into a beautiful, mature tree. This tree has been with me through a lot of life – through both joyful and challenging times. Each fall, it’s one of the last trees to turn. It used to turn the most incredibly bright, vibrant red.Continue Reading
