Coming in 2016: Two New Books Featuring Tortitude and Purrs

I am super excited to announce that Mango Media will be publishing two new books by me in 2016!

Tortitude: The Little Book of Cats With a Big Attitude, will come out in February of 2016. The book will include entertaining and educational facts about torties, as well as funny, inspirational and thought-provoking quotes. And of course, there will be lots and lots of photos of torties!

Mango Media will also publish Purrs of Wisdom Volume 2: Enlightenment, Feline Style. This compilation of lessons in conscious living, inspired by cats, will offer encouragement, guidance and inspiration for living a joyful, conscious life. In August of 2009, I wrote a post titled Tortitude: The Unique Personality of Tortoiseshell Cats. The post describes some of the unique traits that many of these beautifully colored cats seem to share: they tend to be strong-willed, a bit hot-tempered, and they can be very possessive of their human. Other words used to describe torties are fiercely independent, feisty and unpredictable. Tortoiseshell cats, one blog post, and 10,000 comments

Today, The Conscious Cat reached a milestone I never could have envisioned, not even in my wildest dreams. Today, one single blog post reached 10,000 comments.

It all began on August 17, 2009, when I wrote a post titled Tortitude – the Unique Personality of Tortoiseshell Cats. The post features one of my favorite photos of Amber and Buckley, and rapidly became one of the most popular posts on this blog.

Comments began pouring in almost immediately. Turns out there were a lot of people out there who loved these cats as much as I did, and who were sometimes delighted, sometimes puzzled, and occasionally frustrated, with their strong personalities. Within a few months, a Google search for “tortoiseshell cat” showed the post halfway down the first page of search results. A search for “tortoiseshell cat personality” returned the post as the first search result.Continue Reading
