patience-waiting-cat

Patience has never been my strong suit, and lately, it’s really being tested while I’m waiting to be able to get my Covid vaccine, so this quote is timely for me, and I suspect for many of you out there as well.

I’m starting to think about all the things I can finally do again that haven’t felt safe to me for over a year. I haven’t been to a store. I haven’t been to a restaurant. I haven’t been inside a friend’s home, and haven’t had anyone other than Allegra’s vet in my home. Most of all, I haven’t hugged anyone or been hugged for over a year.  I’m so looking forward to a time when all of these things will feel safe and “normal” again.

I know it’s going to be a while before anything will feel like the before times, even after I’m vaccinated. And maybe some things never will. But in the meantime, I’m trying really hard to not give in to pandemic fatigue and maintain my positive attitude.

As with so many other things, the best thing I’ve found to maintain a positive mindset is to try and live in the moment as much as possible, or, as Allegra would tell me as she’s soaking up the  sun in her favorite sun puddle, “be more like me!”

5 Comments on Sunday Quotes: Patience While Waiting

  1. I’m so sorry you’ve been struggling this last year, it has been challenging and you’re not alone. I hope you can receive your vaccine shortly and experience some relief knowing you have a safety shield of sorts 🙂

  2. I can’t wait to get a vaccine too. I am more than ready to start doing things again too. My in-laws are anti-vaccine people and because we choose to stay safe and not to be around people, my husband and I have now been disowned by them. But we don’t want to take a chance of getting sick, or worse, causing someone to get sick if we have been exposed to covid.
