Scratching is a natural behavior for cats. Cats scratch to groom their claws, to mark their territory, and for exercise; scratching stretches the muscles in the front legs and all along the back. And they scratch simply because it feels good.
As far as I’m concerned, you can’t have too many scratchers in your home, and until you figure out your cat’s preferences, it’s important to offer a variety of different substrates as well as orientations. Some cats prefer sisal, others carpet. Some like to scratch vertically, some horizontally, and some, at an incline.
The ScratchLadder addresses all these needs in one beautifully designed product.
ScratchLadder Ultimate Scratcher Features
It comes with 3 replaceable panels that will keep your cat entertained while saving your carpet and furniture from total destruction. Additional panels can be purchased separately.
- The Colorful Cats Catnip Panel will provide hours of scratching entertainment. (Polyfil and catnip covered in fabric.)
- Beige Carpet Panel: Medium height fibers, soft, durable, comfortable. The Beige Carpet Panel is one your cat can really sink its claws into.
- Catnip Felt Mice Panel: Detachable, replaceable mice stuffed with catnip. This panel will have your cat playing fetch and stalking its prey.
- Dimensions: 22.25″ tall, 16″ deep, 14.75″ wide
We reviewed an earlier version of this scratcher two years ago, and Allegra used it regularly for quite a while. We’ve since donated it to a local rescue since we can’t possibly keep all the products we get for review, but now that they added the adorable felt mice panel, I wish I had kept it!
I love products that combine function with visual appeal for the human, and the ScratchLadder hits that mark for me. I also loved that it came fully assembled!
