Summers are getting warmer, even in parts of the world unaccustomed to extreme temperatures. Extreme heat and humidity can be as dangerous to cats as it is to dogs and people. Even indoor cats may need protection from the heat, especially during stretches of extreme temperatures, which are becoming all too common.

I always have the ceiling fans on or when I’m home the air conditioner on.
I remember when I was volunteering for a cat rescue, we had to stop doing outside adoptions because the cats would get too hot.
Another good tip that I heard from my electric company is change the direction to your blinds. Most of us have them set where the slant down to let in a tiny bit of light. Slant them up to make the room darker to keep the room cooler.

This is an excellent tip Janine. I have been doing this for years and I can attest that slanting the blinds up makes a big difference in helping to keep the room cooler.
