I don’t know about you, but I think ice cream makes everything better – even the miserable heat that is currently spread over large parts of the US.
I’m a Ben and Jerry’s devotee, and not just because Allegra loves the crinkly plastic ring that seals the pints. She can be fast asleep, but if she hears the sound of me pulling the seal off the container, she’ll come running!
I had to go gluten free last fall, and had a moment of panic when I realized that many of the flavors I used to enjoy have gluten in them. But thankfully, Ben and Jerry’s offers plenty of gluten free flavors, including my favorites, Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia.
And while your cat certainly shouldn’t be eating ice cream in large quantities, a little lick here and there is not going to do any harm unless your kitty has serious GI issues.

I eat Dryers Slow Churned. The only kind that I can consume without problems. Something about the slow churned that makes it easier on the gut.
As for cats… I had one cat that was highly allergic to dairy. Got violently ill after consuming about 1/4 tsp of cheddar cheese. Two licks of whip cream had her foaming up blood and cream, within seconds.
Oh my goodness, that poor kitty! That’s why I cautioned people with cats with GI issues about sharing.

I have a serious ice cream addition. Right now, I am hooked on Talenti Caribbean Coconut. I know technically, it’s gelato, but it’s all ice cream to me. Hagan Das also makes a coconut pineapple flavor.
I will have to check out the coconut pineapple, that sounds so refreshing!
