Ruby

It’s hard to believe that next month it’ll be four years since I had to let Ruby go. I still miss my little girl every single day. I’m grateful I have eight years of Ruby’s Reflections on this site to comfort me and remind me of some of the cute things she did, and I love sharing the memories with you.

The other day, I came across Ruby’s “top 10 things about me” list that she “wrote” about two weeks after she joined our family. I may have shared this memory before, but it’s too precious not to share it again.

  1. I think it is so wonderful how you post about Ruby, keeping her memories alive. I do that with my pets that I have lost over the years, post pictures and stories. I think it helps even though it saddens me and I start to cry. I think we are so lucky to have them in our lives even for such a short time. They always tug at our heart even when no longer on this earth. Ruby was full of personality.

  2. Keeping the memories alive helps so much with the loss. I talk to my Katie’s ashes every day and tell her how much I miss her and love her. She’s always in my heart and I pray we will be together again one day. Even though it’s been over a year since I lost her, I still have crying bouts that hit me. Grief is so difficult to handle.

  3. Look at beautiful girl who was so full of tortitude. Having all of Ruby’s Reflections is something so special, it means a lot when you share the times you look back on your favorite moments. Having been such a long time follower it’s so sweet to remember these moments. I began to make sure I kept ways to preserve things my guys have done and still do. Not as well as your creative ways but I owe you a giant thank you for making me realize how much it means to have to look back on. Ruby may have gone on her next big adventure but will still always have her special place here.

    • I’m glad you’re actively capturing memories. I realize how comparatively few tangible memories I have of my first cat Feebee (before the days of digital cameras and blogs and online anything.) I don’t have a single video of him.

  4. All of those things are wonderful. Seeing her photo, her eyes are so bright and beautiful! I am so glad we have photos of our beloved cats who have passed away. We have been so lucky to have them in our lives❤️❤️❤️
