I’m not a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. Even though the idea of a “fresh start” is appealing, I find that setting intentions for the year is a more powerful way to go about making permanent changes in your life. However, Allegra and Ruby have been discussing their New Year’s resolutions extensively, and they’ve been bugging me to share their top 3 resolutions with you, so here you go!
Allegra’s New Year’s Resolutions
- I will make sure that Mom takes frequent breaks from sitting at the computer to pet me.
- I will keep Mom’s lap warm when she watches TV.
- I will try to be quiet when I get up for my early morning play session at 3am so Mom can continue to sleep.
Ruby’s New Year’s Resolutions
- I will try to share Mom’s lap with Allegra and not get all huffy about it.
- I will help Mom work. You can read my full job description here.

What New Year’s resolutions did your kitties make?
Ruby and Allegra have great resolutions. Mosey resolves to eat more turkey, Bear resolves to nap more, Donald will watch after his mommy more, and Cora Kitty resolves to bite every time she sees.

My cat, the beautiful affectionate cat Depeche Mode resolution is: I want my favorite humane to understand why I urinate and defecate outside the litter box even when it is reasonably clean.
My new feral cat who got fixed, ears clean, nails clipped, ear tipped and escape from the feral trap overnight. His resolution is: I hope my human soon figures out a name for me, because I intend to stay here in this warm cat house with my new friends.
My feral cat Onyx says: I hope my wonderful human knows I do love her and the wonderful house with my new friends.
Ricardo and Mitsu-both semi feral cats don’t have much to say.
Kraftwerk and Milo my 2 Orangemen, my ginger color green eye cats, don’t have anything to say, except we got it all. Our human, who we protect knows what we want and we get what we want like all the cats here do. Our human know we love her.
I don’t bother making New Year’s resolutions… because Binga makes them for me!
1. (All)We will try not to stretch out to maximum size on the bed so mom has enough room to fit, even when the electric blanket is on.
2.(Blazie) I will try not to play with my crinkly toy in the bathtub at 4am (even though it’s really cool the way I hit it and it comes back)
3. (Abe) I will stop trying to open the treat cabinet. I know mom put some kind of lock thingy on it but I’ll figure it out- ahem-I mean I’ll give up.
Gypsy also added March 17 will be her 20th birthday, and she would ❤️ to see it happen!
