Coming in 2016: Two New Books Featuring Tortitude and Purrs

I am super excited to announce that Mango Media will be publishing two new books by me in 2016!

Tortitude: The Little Book of Cats With a Big Attitude, will come out in February of 2016. The book will include entertaining and educational facts about torties, as well as funny, inspirational and thought-provoking quotes. And of course, there will be lots and lots of photos of torties!

Mango Media will also publish Purrs of Wisdom Volume 2: Enlightenment, Feline Style. This compilation of lessons in conscious living, inspired by cats, will offer encouragement, guidance and inspiration for living a joyful, conscious life. Memorial Day 2015

Today is Memorial Day in the United States, a day when we honor the memory of the men and women who have died in military service.

For many people, it’s also a day to remember all departed loved ones, and for most of us, that includes our beloved felines. I’m remembering Amber, Buckley and Feebee today. All three of them changed my life in ways I never could have imagined. I miss them every day, and I treasure the legacy they’ve left behind.

I believe that one of the greatest sacrifices our military personnel make when they deploy is having to leave their beloved pets behind.Continue Reading

In Memory of Buckley

Six years ago, on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Buckley passed away after a long illness. For all those years, I’ve always commemorated her anniversary on the Friday after Thanksgiving, regardless of the actual date. This year, the anniversary falls on the actual date, November 28, and somehow, even though it’s been six years, this confluence makes this anniversary more poignant for me.

When a Client’s Cat Dies: A Tribute to Belle

As a Reiki Practitioner, I rarely work with young, healthy animals. Most of my feline (and canine) clients suffer from degenerative diseases. Some are terminally ill. Reiki can help bring healing and balance to these animals by reducing stress, providing pain relief, alleviating side effects of conventional treatments, and strengthening the immune system.
